Every Gift Has a Story

My own story began over two decades ago, not with candles or bath oils, but with paper.

As a graphic designer with more than twenty years of experience, I founded Secret Diary nearly nineteen years ago—a boutique design and print studio built on beautiful branding, thoughtful details and meaningful celebrations. It was there that I discovered how much joy could be found in creating something that made people feel seen, celebrated and remembered.

Yet, quietly, another dream was taking shape.

I longed to create products of my own. Pieces that were as beautiful to hold as they were to receive. Products crafted with intention, inspired by nature, thoughtful design and the simple luxury of everyday living.

That dream became Summer Story.

Today, we collaborate with some of South Africa's finest artisans and makers to create a carefully curated collection of home fragrance, bath and body products, edible treats, keepsakes and beautifully considered gifts.

Wherever possible, we choose clean, skin-kind ingredients, believing that luxury should never come at the expense of quality or care. Every fragrance is thoughtfully selected, every product carefully curated, and every detail—from the ribbon to the handwritten note—is considered with intention.

Because gifting is never just about what's inside the box. It's about making someone feel loved.

Our inspiration comes from slow mornings, wild coastal walks, blooming gardens, sun-filled homes and the timeless beauty of thoughtful living. We believe in celebrating life's milestones, embracing everyday rituals and finding joy in the little things.
